Recently, attending physician Liu Jianwei from the Department of Acupuncture and Rehabilitation of our hospital visited hospitalized children with the China ( Sichuan ) ' s 17th medical team in Sao Tome and Principe， and presented Christmas gifts to local colleagues.

Since his arrival in Sao Tome and Principe on September 17, 2021, Dr. Liu Jianwei has been working in Sao Tome and Principe for more than three months as part of the 17th medical team. During this period, Dr. Liu Jianwei gave full play to the advantages of TCM, and carried out TCM diagnosis and treatment in the local area with exquisite medical skills and good medical ethics.

In the context of the global COVID-19 epidemic, Dr. Liu Jianwei 's medical team obeyed the embassy 's arrangement and overcame difficulties. In Sao Tome and Principe they actively participated in the " Spring Vaccine Action ", successfully inoculated two doses of domestic vaccines for Chinese citizens, and received a letter of thanks from the Chinese Embassy.

At the same time, in order to strengthen the health management and protection of the Chinese people in Sao Tome and Principe under the background of the normalization of epidemic prevention and control, under the guidance of the Chinese Embassy and with the active cooperation of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce in Sao Tome and Principe, Dr. Liu Jianwei 's medical team carried out the action of " Diplomacy for the People, Medical Care for the Heart - - Medical Team Service for Chinese Volunteers in Sao Tome and Principe". They provide local Chinese medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, stomatology, TCM diagnosis and treatment consulting services, gifts of new coronavirus epidemic prevention Chinese patent medicines and prescriptions. And according to the existing conditions they do health guidance, advocate a healthy lifestyle and maintain awareness of epidemic prevention for the local Chinese. In addition, Dr. Liu Jianwei and the medical team successively visited the other China Aid Sao Tome and Principe Expert Group Teams such as the Confucius Institute, the antimalarial group, the agricultural technology group and the power group under the guidance of the Chinese Embassy in Sao Tome and Principe. During the period, the medical team introduced the latest epidemic prevention knowledge to each group of experts, exchanged epidemic prevention experience, and presented epidemic prevention materials to guide Chinese experts in Sao Tome and Principe to better achieve effective personal protection.
Medical aid is an important part of China 's diplomatic work and a glorious mission entrusted by the Party and the country. At present, Dr. Liu Jianwei is still busy in the medical posts of Sao Tome and Principe. He and his teammates are brave and willing to contribute.
